We are looking for a hands-on and service-oriented IT Technician to be the primary operational IT presence at our Uppsala site. In this role, you will support employees, manage workplace technology, administer Microsoft 365 services, and perform day-to-day maintenance of onsite and cloud-connected IT infrastructure. You will work closely with users, external service providers, and the IT Manager to ensure reliable, secure, and well-documented IT operations in a regulated manufacturing environment.

We are a close-knit team of almost 80 colleagues working together at our site in Ultuna, Uppsala. Our employee surveys show a high level of engagement and a strong sense of pride in our product.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1st and 2nd line support for hardware, software, Microsoft 365, and access-related issues together with external service provider.

• Configure, deploy, and support laptops, mobile devices, monitors, and workplace technology.

• Administer Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID users, licenses, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and related services.

• Execute IT onboarding and offboarding, ensuring employees have the right equipment and access from day one.

• Support meeting room technology, AV equipment, and laboratory-related IT infrastructure.

• Maintain endpoint management and device compliance using Intune and related tools.

• Perform operational administration, monitoring, updates, allocation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for Windows Server, Active Directory, physical servers, virtualization and storage platforms.

• Operate and monitor backup routines for network storage, servers, SharePoint, and cloud services.

• Perform scheduled recovery tests and support Disaster Recovery Plan exercises.

• Support information security activities, including MFA, access management, user awareness, and security best practices.

• Coordinate purchasing of IT equipment and accessories, hardware allocation, vendor support cases, managed-service activities, and service escalations.

• Maintain accurate operating instructions, support documentation, configuration records, inventory records, license records, asset registers, and evidence of completed maintenance and recovery tests.

Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of the IT environment, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with business needs.

Assist in evaluating new technologies, integrations, and Microsoft 365 capabilities from an architectural perspective.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Three years of relevant professional experience in IT support, workplace services, IT operations, infrastructure administration, or a comparable role.

• Good knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration.

• Experience with Windows, Linux, Intune, and Active Directory.

Interest in IT architecture, infrastructure design, and technology strategy.

Understanding how applications, identity, endpoints, networks, storage, virtualization, backup, and cloud services interact within an enterprise environment.

• Knowledge of Windows Server administration.

• Practical experience with backup and recovery, virtualization, and storage management.

• Understanding information security principles and best practices.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

• Fluent English, written and spoken.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting laboratory, R&D, medical-device, or other regulated environments, including controlled documentation and change processes.

• Familiarity with Microsoft security and compliance solutions.

• Relevant Microsoft, ITIL, or other IT certifications.
